Saturday, October 24, 2009: LOCAL/ OLYMPIANS:
Peter Vanderkaay, a 2004 Olympic gold medalist, prepares to 'race' other swimmers in the backstroke at the 2009-2010 Fitter & Faster Tour at the Keating Natatorium at St. Xavier High School, Saturday, October 24. Vanderkaay, along with fellow Olympians, Christine Magnuson and Mark Gangloff conducted a swimming clinic for nearly 70 kids from the area. Also participating was Nick Thoman, left, who narrowly missed making the Olympic team in 2008. He is a 2008 US OPen Champion in the 100 and 200 meter Backstroke. The clinic was hosted by the Cincinnati Marlins.
